ESPN is reporting that the Brooklyn Nets will sign center Jason Collins for the remainder of the season according to multiple sources with knowledge of the situation as his second 10-day contract runs out today.
Per ESPN: The second 10-day contract Jason Collins signed with the Brooklyn Nets expires on Mar. 14 and come Mar. 15 he’s going to receive a rest-of-season deal from the team, according to Ohm Youngmisuk and Marc Stein.
Collins has played in eight games and given the Nets what they had hoped for in a defensive presence along with the ability to set good screen and keep the ball alive.
Nothing spectacular from the stat sheet for sure but if the Nets wanted 9.8 minutes, 0.6 points and 0.8 rebounds off the bench then they got what they expected.
As expected, Nets likely to sign Jason Collins for the rest of the season when his second 10-day contract express Thursday.
