Doc Rivers Staying With The Celtics – No Brooklyn

The Brooklyn Nets coaching search took another turn yesterday as Danny Ainge came out and told the Boston Globe that head coach Doc Rivers will be back with Boston.

The situation has been in the news since the season ended because of the way Rivers reacted to the loss to the New York Knicks with his players such as Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce.

The Celtics are more than likely going to be in rebuilding mode as it seems that Garnett and Pierce will not be back, as of this moment, but Rivers has three years left on his contract and it looks like Ainge knows how good a coach Rivers is and isn’t going to let him go anywhere.

The idea that Rivers would be allowed out of his contract with Boston to seek a new job was far-fetched to say the least and even more crazy to think they would allow him to coach in the division for Brooklyn against them.

The search continues for Brooklyn and one by one candidates are being checked off as “No” which is making the pool smaller and smaller.  On to the next rumor……….

“Yeah [he’ll be back], Doc and I are talking about our team next year,” Ainge said. “[No suspense] from my perspective. We’ve got a great coach.’’Doc Rivers says goodbye to Kevin Garnett Celtics

“We’ve got a coach everybody would love to have and he’s got three years left on his contract and I think Doc likes Boston, too. Coaches get tired, though. It’s a hard job.

“You guys are the only one [who made it an issue].”[/quote_simple]
