Brooklyn loses 6th pick to Portland

In an another sad twist for the New Brooklyn Nets last night they lost their first round pick (odds were against keeping it) to the Portland Trailblazers from the Gerald Wallace trade earlier this year even with the beautiful Irina Pavlova in attendance to bring them some much needed luck.  The Trailblazers now get the 6th pick in the 2012 NBA draft to go along with their own pick at 11 and can rebuild their franchise accordingly.  The Nets on the other hand have a much tougher route and have to go the way of FA’s and trades to fill out a roster that only has 4 current players under contract and the biggest piece about to opt out of his current deal.  The road is not easy from this point for Billy King but I for one have faith in his plan and hope he can pull off the big WIN WIN this offseason.  The Nets NEED to resign Deron Williams as well as finding enough pieces to placate him into signing a 5 year deal to stay in Brooklyn. King has a nice resume of finding players in second round of the draft as well as an owner with unlimited pockets to buy into the 1st round to get a pick if needed.

Can Billy King bring Dwight Howard in a trade and make a few other trades and signings to make the Nets a contender???

The New Orleans Hornets won the NBA Lottery last night in what most can call ” a shoe in” as the league owned Hornets defied the odds and get the chance to draft the great Anthony Davis. The conspiracy theories are running ramped today and Adrian Wojnarowski wrote  a great article on “how it looks as if the lottery is rigged”.

Woj – “There’s no proof, and there will never be proof. Yet, there’s an appearance of impropriety – always an appearance – that marches arm-and-arm with Stern into the twilight of his commissionership, marches right out the door with him.
